1. Rohit Sharma: Hitman

Rohit Sharma's elegant batting style and ability to build innings make him a crucial asset for India. The Indian Captain would be all set create a winning streak and build the right momentum just before the World Cup.
His weakness against the short ball has been exploited in the past, and opponents might look to exploit this during the Asia Cup.

2. Shreyas Iyer

Back after a prolonged injury, this would be a golden opportunity for Shreyas to make a comeback into the side and cement his position in the middle order. But there is a lot to prove with the intense competition - first for making it into the team and secondly for getting the right position to play at. Lots at stake for him

3. Shubman Gill

Everyone knows what a talented young lad shubman is. His performance during the recent IPL season for Gujarat Titans is one for the records, but his recent form since then has not been very impressive. It would be a tough job for the selectors to decide the opening pair alongside Rohit. Will it be Ishan Kishan or Shubman, we'll have to wait to find out!

4. Suryakumar Yadav

There has been a lot of noise around Suryakumar Yadav and his performances in ODI. But can anyone deny the fact that he is probably one of the most talented guns in the current Indian Team. With his 360 degree hitting ability, all Indian cricket fans can only hope to see him back in form in the Asia Cup!

5. Tilak Varma

Tilak Varma another new gun in the team has impressed everyone with his  performances against West Indies. His quick scoring abilities can definitely proof to be a great strength in the middle overs. But will he be able to find a spot in this team ? Only time will tell!

6. Virat Kohli

With India playing Pakistan on 2nd September, All eyes will be on Virat Kohli. How can one forget his incredible knock against Pakistan in the recent T20 World Cup.
One for the ages! He continues to be a force to reckon with. His consistent form and unwavering determination make him a pillar of strength for the team. His ability to chase down targets and anchor the innings is unmatched. However, his vulnerability against the moving ball early in the innings is a weakness that opposing teams might exploit.

7. Axar Patel

India's needs to build a very solid middle order and Axar Patel if selected in the playing XI would be very crucial for this role. Being an all-rounder Axar provides that flexibility to the captain of an extra bowling option. Do you think he'll make it to the XI ? Do let us know in the comments!

8. Hardik Pandya

The vice captain of the Indian team and one of the finest finishers, Hardik Pandya would need to be in his best form if India's aims at winning the Asia cup. With his recent performances being a bit hot and cold, all eyes would be on the vice captain to finish off our matches in style!

9. Ravindra Jadeja

Baaz hi nazar, aur Jadeja ki throw pe kabhi shak nahi karte! Jaddu comes out as extremely important link in this playing XI and aren't we all glad he's perfectly fit for this tournament. Good with the bat, bowl and with his incredible fielding ability Jadeja is just the all-rounder every team would want to have. Looking forward to those quick breakthroughs & big sizes SIR JADEJA!

10. Ishan Kishan

Wicket Keeper Batsman Ishan Kishan has a lot to prove. With KL Rahul & Rishab Pant recovering he would soon be in contention for the spot alongside Sanju Samson. Big Gun. Quick run scorer, Ishan is a Star but would have to prove his mettle in the big matches!

11. Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson fans will be extremely happy with his selection in the squad and what they would be hoping for would be to see him in the Playing XI. With his recent performances being good but not great, Sanju will hope for a good opportunity to prove his world class ability at this big stage!

12. Jasprit Bumrah

If there was one person who was missed the most in the T20 world cup it was Jasprit Bumrah and we are all soo glad to have back fit and fine. Jasprit Bumrah's unique bowling action and deadly accuracy make him a standout fast bowler. All eyes on the pace machine for Asia Cup and the World Cup!

13. Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep has been a surprise entry in the Indian Team with a lot of people debating on the option of choosing Yuzi Chahal. But his recent performances have been very impressive which has led to his inclusion for the Asia Cup

14. Mohammed Shami

Shami and Bumrah opening pair is what we all want to see with our first match against Pakistan. Deadly combination of pace and swing, Shami is another pacer who would carry a lot of responsibility for this Indian Side. It will be extremely crucial for him to perform and perform big , for india to win this cup.

15. Mohammed Siraj

Miya ( As Virat Kohli fondly calls him) has had some really good performances in the recent past , especially in tests and for RCB, but what needs to be tested is his performance against big teams. India must decide its bowling combination not just for the Asia cup but also the world cup and Mohammad Siraj would definitely be among their top considerations.

16. Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh has been impressive but his performances have been on and off. Prasidh has got pace but he still needs to convert that into wicket taking abilities. Would Arshdeep make a better replacement for Prasidh ?

17. Shardul Thakur

Shardul has displayed the role of a bowling all rounder for the team, but it seems really difficult for him to make the cut for the playing XI. If he gets a chance all we can hope for is those big sixes and match saving knocks from the LORD!
